An island in Vestfjorden off Nærsnes, in an area with several beaches and value for outdoor recreation. It is used as a destination by boat or kayak.
Torvøya is a small island in Vestfjorden off Nærsnes, on the side of Asker that belonged to Røyken until the municipal merger in 2020. From the water you see a low, wooded islet in a stretch of water full of small islands and skerries. The Nærsnes shore inside it has several beaches and good walking.

No scheduled boat comes here. You will have to find the nearest public quay yourself, and the rest is your own boat or a kayak. Check the wind and wave forecast before you set out. The open stretches in the outer fjord turn unpleasant in a fresh breeze.
Torvøya is part of a shore area long used for fishing, boating and swimming. Nærsnes itself is an old shore settlement on the inner Oslofjord. The detailed history of the island is unknown, beyond its place in the open landscape around Nærsnes.
Boat and kayak people use Torvøya as a day destination. It is one of the small islands off Nærsnes that people row or paddle out to on a good day.
You get here by private boat or kayak. There is no ferry. Put in where the ground allows. The conservation status here is unknown, so check Naturbase, the national database of protected areas, for current protection and any access ban in the nesting season before you land.
Torvøya is in the part of Asker that was called Røyken right up to the municipal merger in 2020. Plenty of locals still count themselves as Røyken people.
The water around Nærsnes is thick with small islands and skerries, one of the calm paddling areas in the outer part of the inner Oslofjord.
