Landing

Islets and skerries without a quay are reached by your own boat or by kayak. Many of them lie inside seabird reserves where landing is banned in the breeding season, as a rule from 15 April to 15 July. The boundaries and the dates are in Naturbase at the Norwegian Environment Agency, and they are worth checking before you go ashore.

Ulvøya lies about 0.6 km from here. Boligøy i Bunnefjorden ca. 8 km fra sentrum, med rundt 1000 innbyggere. Bebyggelsen skjøt fart etter at Kristian Gjølberg kjøpte øya i 1923 og bygde bro i 1928. Sydstranda på sørspissen er en populær sandstrand; åpent-vann-svømmet Ulvøen Rundt arrangeres her.
