Landing
Islets and skerries without a quay are reached by your own boat or by kayak. Many of them lie inside seabird reserves where landing is banned in the breeding season, as a rule from 15 April to 15 July. The boundaries and the dates are in Naturbase at the Norwegian Environment Agency, and they are worth checking before you go ashore.

Søndre Sandøy lies about 0.3 km from here. Bilfri øy sørøst i Hvaler med sandstrender, turstier og stor barskog. Den karakteristiske gneisen ble brukt som fasadestein på Oslo rådhus. Prins Christian Frederik gikk i land her i 1813 før han ble konge. Bronsealder-gravrøys ved Sanderød og gammelt sildesalteri på Gravningsund.
